The shelter facility provides a long term care service that is particularly established for addressing the needs of the low-income older adults in the rural areas. The service is particularly well suitable for those who cannot live alone because of social conditions and have no family to provide care. El-Aged Care provides room and board type of accommodation with shared common space which includes living room, kitchen and dining for this group of older adults in a supportive home environment. The shelter service offers supportive services in the form of personal care which include activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and taking medications. Residents are also provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week supervision as well as services such as meals, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, and medication management.
